Another Site that recently referenced my work

Here’s another site with a recent mention of my writing: http://www.joeyday.net/index.php/Speaking_the_Truth_in_Love_to_Mormons_(bible_study) This guy really seems to have a lot on the ball — and has the same interests as my son in law, Noel.  Must be a great guy!

New Article featuring my writing

Dr. Al Franzmeier of the Lutheran publication “Reclaiming our Heritage” quotes me extensively in this month’s edition of his publication. You can read it here: http://www.alfranzmeier.com/home/Home/tabid/36/EntryID/379/Default.aspx I appreciate his attention to detail and truth.  And wish him well after his heart surgery! Reason #15 Why I Won’t Return to Mormonism: The Big Picture

Sometimes in writing about why I left Mormonism “” and can”‘t go back “” I forget to let people see the really big picture. Here”‘s the question that Mormonism cannot and never will satisfy: If God sent His only Son to earth to redeem us, and we cannot be saved without knowing that Son, and He provided a record of that Son”‘s life on earth, wouldn”‘t that record “” the Bible “” have to be protected through the ages? Mormonism says no “” that the Bible was corrupted and thus a new revelation was necessary. But how in the world would people in 1830 be able to assess that new revelation “” if the only one they had previously was corrupted? What would be the standard for...

Discontinuity

I developed an idea last year on the theme of Discontinuity and wrote a study that many of you have commented on.  It appears below.  My next post will be one in which I will explore the question of how physical objects — a staff, a striped stick, a handkerchief, many others — are involved in Biblical accounts of discontinuities. Discontinuity A Generalization from the Parable of the Persistent Widow The concept of discontinuity is a generalization from the parable of the persistent widow in Luke 18. The Parable of the Persistent Widow 1 Then Jesus told his disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray and not give up. 2 He said: “In a certain town there was a judge who neither feared God nor cared about men. 3 And there was a...

Reason #14 — Mormon Hit Lists

Anyone familiar with LDS history — not the sanitized version of Mormon Sunday School — knows that people who follow Joseph Smith (that includes members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints as well as the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and scores of other groups who claim Smith’s “restoration”) have instigated “hit lists” of apostates and others who opposed them. It was undoubtedly a joke in poor taste, but someone who posts regularly to “Mormon Apologetics” recently suggested that I be put on a Danite hit list. Here’s the post:  http://www.mormonapologetics.org/index.php?showtopic=28245 Not funny. And even jokes about such a thing are why I won’t go...
