Christian Loyalties?

One of the other blogs on this site, “365 Reasons Why I Won't Return to Mormonism,” gives some insight into some of the problems a Christian might consider when thinking about voting for Mitt Romney. However, I want to pose this question

What is the difference between not voting for a Mormon who has made vows of absolute loyalty to his church, and voting (or not voting) for a Christian? To what loyalties does the Bible specifically call a believer? What does it say about citizenship and allegiances?

For more information, see The Mormon Mirage 3rd Edition:  A Former Member Looks at the Mormon Church Today (Zondervan, 2009). Also available as an audiobook and as an expanded-text E-book for Nook, Kindle and other reading devices.

  • Thankyou Latayne for responding to me. I believe
that the lord christ/God is the one and only
true God and mainstream christianity should be
the Allegiance of the american system of equal
rights based on anything but pagen. If we give
loyality to pagen gods and cults to claim to be
the only true church based on wicked and adultrous doctrines restored such as mormonism
and its Adam/god theory once revelation by
Brigham young as a prophet now corrected meaning
a false prophet indeed that was misleading the
people then the american folks ought to stand
up and not weaken to such an elitist self-rightous authority predicated on their own
works and obedience even so abominable neverthe
less, but apon the rightousness of the lord
in which all decisions should be made and not
claim our own rightousness and preconcieved
pagen views as credit to the voting system.
What is the point of a God who favours only
mormonism. God/christ and his rightousness is
our perfection entering into his grace and
the bible makes it clear that any power derived
from earning salvation cannot be trusted but only
leads to a cosmic terrorist God.Cults should be
checked and made known to public before pending
voting cast to such as a mormon to rule in politics as a matter of safety and protection
just like Asia has the death penalty for those
who do drugs, a system of the majority rules
despite it being an infrustructure, doesnt mean
its a cult, but a persons relegion who is against
the one and true god of the bible should be
scrutinized with absolute caution. No we dont
have a right to death penalty tho the bible
old testiment brought it on. Compasion is the
way but nevertheless do not heed to a pagen
god. Wake up America, australia and have the
integrity to acept the god that died on the cross
is the only God that could possibly know compassion for our sufferings and forgiver of sins. Dont worship a C0smic Terrorist God.
History will speak for itself. It does not work.

    amen to that folks......Fraser2004@yahoo.com
