I recently read an article that quotes a former employee of the LDS Church who has insider information about how this corporation — which he says is no longer a church, and hasn't been for a long time — spends its billions of tax-free dollars. As a corporate investment entity, the LDS church is not interested in making disciples, but making money.
He shows that LDS leaders have been getting, and publishing, “revelations” telling church members to invest in everything from railroads to gold mines for decades. And now the LDS Corporation is itself one of the richest entities in the world.
Christ, however, was not interested in creating investment corporations, but an ekklesia, a church, which would worship the Father in spirit and in truth (John 4:23).
